Shopping Trip!

It's been a pretty long day. Most of which was spent packing and cleaning... and trying to sell my crap to pack rats.  My mom finally took me to Eastern Mountain Sports to browse their amazing selection of everything outdoor related. I got some greatly needed clothes: hiking pants, climbing pants and a sports tank top. And some stuff I felt would make a great addition to my life: A hydration pack, headlight (with a really cute pattern on it x) ), climbing chalk and tape and a proper hiking bag (color: mauve). It set me back over $200 but with student discount and gift cards I managed to save $90 which I was pretty thrilled about! I still have a lot to do before I leave =/ And I stumbled upon an amazing parkour video, now I really want to learn how to do some of that stuff! Props to anyone that can :) But I guess that has to wait a while.

Just a Tad Bored

My computer is being a pain right now, transferring around 50 gigs in music and movies onto the external for a friend so everything is painfully slow. I may as well blog about something xD My summer travel plans are all set, I'm going to Ithaca for 2 days on the 29th and on August 2nd, I'm flying to London. I'm going to spend a few days there before taking the train to Paris. Spend a while there and then fly to Vienna. I'm really excited about London and Paris, I haven't been to London since I was little and I've only ever been to Nice so Paris should be nice (: Not sure what I want to see yet, I'm definitely staying away from the touristy places, I can't stand crowds or looking like an idiot staring at a building with 50 other excited idiots. As for Vienna, I'm stoked. My whole family is there and I haven't seen them in 2 years. I have 2 cousins turning 1 and Bastian just finished his first year of school. I miss my family so much! It's always an amazing feeling to go home. After a month of reuniting, I'll be back in Philly for a week to take care of personal matters and then I'll be heading to the Gold Coast to spend time with my father and from there, Sydney, where I'll hopefully have some time to settle down. I'm a bit nervous/ anxious/ excited. My room is empty, as is the rest of the house. My life is packed into boxes ready to be shipped out. It's all happening so fast yet time is passing so slowly. I guess I'm ranting but it's scary leaving behind everything and everyone. But in the words of my wise and amazing best friend "Change can be good... Who knows, maybe you'll meet a rich hot 17 year old male in the next 6 months who will become your future husband. He'll be smart funny and kind and he will love the crap out of you while helping you travel all across Europe with his loads of cash and weed." She just better be right :)

Sydney

Today, my Australian Visa got approved so in September, I'll be going to the Gold Coast (to visit friends and family) and ultimately, to Sydney to  live until further notice... most likely until I finish high school. I'm rather excited and a little sad to be leaving but Sydney is an amazing city. I've been there twice before, once when I was 8 or so with my parents on a road trip and once a year or two ago to visit/meet my moms bf. I found some pictures from my last trip there so, as a way to celebrate, here they are (:

My mom's bf works with Dingos (as a type of researcher) so he took me to a, I guess, wildlife reserve zoo type place that he collaborates with. Because of that, I was able to actually go into all of the pens or cages and pet the Dingos and other animals. They were so sweet and playful :D
My nicest shot of the Opera house, the view is stunning at night!

Bouldering

June 12th, 2011

Finally a post that corresponds with the date (: Not too exciting though. As I do just about every other day, I went to Go Vertical. My mom was too exhausted to belay so I couldn't work on top rope. Instead, I decided to work on bouldering for more or less my first time. I do it to warm up but I've never actually spent a whole session working on it. So today, I managed to concur 2 routes I've been messing around on. I was rather surprised by how well it went. Both routes were V0+ (though felt much harder) so it's not very impressive -.- But I was really happy at the progress! I still have a lot of trouble with overhangs so hopefully I can get to those next.

Palmenhaus Wien

Winter '09
Once again, some pictures I found on my camera. These were taken in the winter of 2009 in Austria. Most are of Palmenhaus Wien, a green house in Vienna. I was there with my grandfather. The last three pictures are in Niederösterreich at my grandmother's house for easter (with my uncle and little cousin). I just thought I'd upload all of them so I can delete the folder off my comp and still have them saved somewhere xP The greenhouse is a truly beautiful place and worth seeing if you're near Schloss Schönbrunn. :)

Amsterdam

Spring '09
During the Spring of 2009 (can't remember the exact date), I went to Amsterdam and the surrounding areas for 2 weeks. I spent a week in the city and a week on a boat cruising around. I just found my old camera and went through the pictures so here are the best ones! I'm hoping most of my other posts are just a couple of pictures taken on the day that they are posted but I'd love to share some of my older travels as well so enjoy! It was a beautiful trip. Unfortunately, since I was so young, I didn't do much more then look at museums and touristy places. If I go back, I plan to spend some time in more exciting locations ;)  (not that the museums weren't! :P)
